Valtellina, in Northern Lombardy, on the Swiss border, less than an hour's drive from Lake Como, is in the heart of the Alps and the property is in the center of the Valley, in one of the most authentic villages.
You can walk on the cobbled streets of the town, letting yourself be amazed by the portals of the buildings and the architecture of the courtyards, visiting the 16 ancient churches, reaching taverns and restaurants with pleasant walks where you can enjoy the most authentic Valtellina cuisine or its refined interpretations, like at the Cerere Restaurant or at the Osteria del Sole or at Nello, pleasantly surprised by the quality/price ratio; or go up by car, or with a nice walk in the woods at Alpe San Bernardo, at 1300 m. above the village, to discover Il Tiglio in a small hut, with its cuisine made with genuine products, almost all self-produced, prepared and served with care.
Travel on foot or by bicycle (we can rent them for you and let you find them at home), even with assisted pedaling, the Sentiero dei Terrazzamenti, which passes right under the house, and which runs halfway up the hill among the vineyards, or the Sentiero Valtellina, more than 100 km of pedestrian or cycle path along the Adda river.
Don't forget the surroundings: in less than an hour you can be on Lake Como, or in the Engadine, or in Bormio, with its spas and its ski slopes.
In less than half an hour in L'Aprica, with skiing in winter and excursions with the Orobie Park Guides in summer, to discover the alpine fauna; or in Valmalenco, again for skiing, but also for the enchanting excursions between the refuges, or to the Bernina Express station, for a journey through breathtaking landscapes that will take you to the worldly Sankt Moriz passing over viducts and unforgettable valleys.
In ten minutes, you will finally be in the tidy historic center of Sondrio, with the large Saturday market, or in the reserved Teglio, home of the pizzocheri.
