About Us / Our History

"The sequence of Guicciardi houses along the street of the same name leads us back to the 16th century. Ancient documents in the family archives tell of a certain Guicciardo who, having crossed the Alps with Charlemagne in June 773... 'wedded in Ponte and there took up his abode.'"

The house facing Via Chiuro is the first and oldest. Since 2000, the current owner—son of Maria Vittoria, the last descendant of the "Enrichi" branch—together with his wife Laura, has overseen its recovery and restoration. The roof, facades, ground floor, courtyards, and, starting in 2026, part of the first floor have been meticulously restored in strict respect of the original architecture.

During the works, rich fresco cycles were discovered and brought back to light. The ancient Granary was also renovated; connected to the main building by a glorietta arching over the street, it has become a delightful apartment full of character.

The recovery and restoration continue every day, also thanks to your contribution.
